Okay all, wondering where you were for meeting… I have lots of stuff for Dave’s part of the project. I found all kinds of information through Nexis/Lexis for him. As for my part… I need to know what Brookdale is doing by way of marketing to Diverse groups both in recruting employees and recruiting clients. Also, I would like to know what the national average and regulatory requirement is for staff per resident… Sue, do you have access to that info???
Dave, you and I should talk before you invest too much time. The info I’ve already pulled can be extremely useful for the project and specifically for your part of it. We can discuss on Weds in class.

Hey Val,
As far as recruiting employees, we have our internal website which posts available job opportunities for Brookdale employees. According to our HR director, we run ads in the local papers for employment opportunies. We also run ads in the Trib/SunTimes for mostly nursing staff. Corporate also places ads with Monster.com, etc…. but that expands the search to more than local and it gets kind of complicated from there. We can discuss more on Weds.
As far as staffing, there are requirements for assisted living and sheltered care as well as skilled nursing. I’ll give you that info on Weds also.
I don’t think I saved the org. chart, Val… I think that came from a class member…I’m still trying to see if i can locate it…
